Yankees Win Two

The New York Yankees won two spring training games with their spilt squads.  Against ther Houston Astros, AJ Burnett threw four scoreless, perfect innings as the Yankees topped the Astros 3-1.  Meanwhile, the other Yankees out slugged the Pittsburgh Pirates 13-10 with the help of Jesus Montero’s grand slam homerun.  For more, see this story.

Here’s one take on the New York Yankees outlook for 2009. They added three top free agents to an already strong team. And one thing I agree with, the Yankees will win this season!

Yankees Sign another Pitcher

The NY Yankees signed one more pitcher yesterday, Brett Tomko, to a minor league contract. Tomko is a right hander who pitched last year for the Kansas City Royals and the San Diego Padres, without much success.  Tomko has been in the majors for twelve seasons and has a lifetime 4.68 era. Yankees Bullpen Should be in Top Form
