The New York Yankees won two spring training games with their spilt squads. Against ther Houston Astros, AJ Burnett threw four scoreless, perfect innings as the Yankees topped the Astros 3-1. Meanwhile, the other Yankees out slugged the Pittsburgh Pirates 13-10 with the help of Jesus Montero’s grand slam homerun. For more, see this story.

The NY Yankees signed one more pitcher yesterday, Brett Tomko, to a minor league contract. Tomko is a right hander who pitched last year for the Kansas City Royals and the San Diego Padres, without much success. Tomko has been in the majors for twelve seasons and has a lifetime 4.68 era.
