Yanks Win in Ninth
Friday, May 1, 2009. The New York Yankees, after blowing a four run lead, came back from a five run deficit to defeat the LA Angels 10-9. Andy Pettitte started the game and didn’t have much. He left after five and two thirds innings and was charged for five runs. The bullpen didn’t help, and the Angels went ahead 9-4. The Yankees pulled to within one run in the eighth. In the bottom of the ninth, the Yankees loaded the bases with no one out and Jorge Posada hit a walk off single to win it for the Yanks. Final box score: Angels 9 runs, 13 hits, 0 errors; Yankees 10 runs, 12 hits, 0 errors. Next game: Sat., May 2nd, v. LAA in New York, 1:05 PM.
