Yankees Defeat Twins Again
Wednesday, July 8, 2009. The New York Yankees defeated the Minnesota Twins tonight 4-3. It was close game all the way, with A.J. Burnett gettin g his third win in a row. A.J. went 6 1/3 innings, walking four and throwing three wild pitches. But he made his pitches count when he had to holding the Minnesota to two runs. The Twins got their third run on a homerun by Joe Mauer off of Phil Coke. Phil Hughes and Mariano Rivera closed out the game, with Mariano getting the last four outs and his 22nd save this season. The Yankees have now beaten the Twins six times in six meetings this season. The Yankees go for the series sweep tomorrow.
