Jays Use Long Ball to Topple Yanks
Tuesday, September 15, 2009. The Toronto Blue Jays hit five homeruns, four off of Yankee starter Sergio Mitre, and defeated the New York Yankees tonight 10-4. The Yankees actually out hit the Jays but just couldn’t get the runs home. They has taken an early lead off of Doc Holiday in the second but Mitre gave it right back to the Jays in the top of the third. It was all downhill from there. In the bottom of the eighth, after having a pitch thrown behind him, Posada scored and bumped into Jays reliver Jesse Carlson while crossing home plate. Words were exchanged, then Jorge charged Carlson. The benches emptied, and the brawl ensued. When it was all over, Posada and Carlson were ejected and probably face fines and suspensions from the league. All in all, not a pretty night.
